ACCESSING THE NATIONAL NAVAL MEDICAL CENTER INSTALLATION & UNIFORMED SERVICES UNIVERSITY
- Present to the gate guards a current driver's license or other
government-issued identification card.
- Please print your email confirmation of your registration and
bring it with you as supportive documentation for base access.
DRIVING YOUR PRIVATELY OWNED VEHICLE (POV)
- Driving Access: USU is accessible via any open gates to the
National Naval Medical Center
- In the morning direct access is available via Jones Bridge Road
(off Wisconsin Ave ).
- At all hours access is available via the National Naval Medical
Center (NNMC) main gate on Wisconsin Ave.
- Attendees driving their POV must have current vehicle
registration and insurance, ready to present if requested.
- Please utilize the attached map for directions to USUHS and
currently authorized visitor parking.
USING THE METRO
The nearest Metro station is Medical Center on the Red Line. Exiting the street level of the station will lead you to the NIH main access gate on Wisconsin Avenue. Directly across Wisconsin Ave is the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) main access gate. Enter the NNMC installation and walk along Palmer South Road for 10+ mins. USU is located on the left and Building B is labeled.

AMYGDALA CONFERENCE SHUTTLE
There is NOT a conference-specific shuttle service. Instead, attendees may utilize the pre-established USU Shuttle Schedule:
0630 - 0900 -- Continuous shuttle service from Medical Center Metro stop to the
USU Ground Level. The last shuttle leaves Medical Center Metro
at 0900.
0900 - 1430 -- Continuous shuttle service from USU Ground Level to NNMC.
1500 - 1700 -- Continuous shuttle service from USU Ground Level to Medical
Center Metro.
AIRPORTS
The most commonly used airports are Ronald Reagan National Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, and Baltimore Washington International Airport.
- SuperShuttle offers service to most hotels from Ronald Reagan National Airport,
Washington Dulles International Airport (25 USD per person and 8 USD for every
additional person), and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (29 USD per
person and 11 USD for each additional person). The shuttle leaves on an as
needed basis between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. During other
times, arrange for a shuttle by calling 800-258-3826 from the airport or visit
