Basic Neuroscience: Role of the Amygdala Neurocircuitry in Fear, Memory and Anxiety.
Translational Research: robiology to Anxiety, Fear and PTSD.
Who: Clinicians, researchers, psychiatrists, psychologists, neurobiologists, neuroscientists, allied health professionals, nurses, and graduate students.
What: The Amygdala Conference at the Uniformed Services University brings scientists and clinicians together with goals of enhancing the understanding of the biological basis anxiety and stress disorders, and translating new research findings into clinical practice. The conferences include speakers at the forefront of their fields.
What to Wear: Business casual attire for civilians, Uniform of the Day for active duty military.
When/Where: Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 8:00 AM through 4:00 PM in the Sanford Auditorium, Building B of the Uniformed Services Univeresity of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland.
Posters: Attendees may present pertinent topic-related research posters. Those interested must contact the Conference POC to be allocated a presentation board.
Travel Awards: Travel awards of $500.00 each are available for students and postdoctoral trainees to help offset the costs of attendance. The travel awards will be awarded on a competitive basis worldwide to undergraduate & graduate students, postdocs and Residents. Travel Award applications close April 10th 2012.
Cost: The conference is free, however, registration is required. If interested, boxed lunches are available to registrants for $11 which must be ordered upon registration. Registration closes April 18th.
