An Important Note About Travel
Due to the construction of the new Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNNMC), you will likely experience traffic
delays.  
Use of the Metro is highly suggested due to limitations in parking.  Please use the Metro if possible.  
 

IMPORTANT TRAVEL DETAILS
- Please print your email confirmation of your registration and bring it with you as
  supportive documentation for base access.
- Have your current drivers license or other government issued identification
  card, as well as vehicle registration and insurance (for those driving) ready for
  entry onto the installation.
 
AS OF APRIL 25--The NNMC Installation is undergoing construction and will require alternative points of entry.  Please adjust your route in accordance with the following:
 
North Gate/Gate 1 (Wisconsin Ave/MD 355/South of Cedar Lane
-- Open 24/7 for inbound & outbound vehicle & pedestrian traffic.
 
South Gate/Gate 2 (Wisconsin Ave/MD355/NIH/Medical Center Metro Stop
-- Inbound vehicle traffic from 5-9am only, outbound traffic afterwards only.
-- Pedestrian traffic 24/6
 
NEX Gate/Gate 3 (Gunnell Road off of Jones Bridge Road)
-- Open 5am-7pm for pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
 
Navy Lodge Gate/Gate 4 (Grier Road off of Jones Bridge Road)
-- Not open for general traffic in the morning, commercial vehicles only.
-- Outbound vehicle traffic from 3-6pm
 
USU Gate/Gate 5 (University Road off of Jones Bridge Road)
-- Vehicle traffic inbound only from 5-8:30am, closed afterwards.
 
 
There is NOT a conference-specific shuttle service.  Instead, attendees may utilize the pre-established USU Shuttle Schedule:

0630 - 0900 -- Continuous shuttle service from Medical Center Metro stop to the
                     USU Ground Level.  The last shuttle leaves Medical Center Metro
                     at 0900.

0900 - 1430 -- Continuous shuttle service from USU Ground Level to NNMC.

1500 - 1700 -- Continuous shuttle service from USU Ground Level to Medical
                     Center Metro.
